“Drink to delete” was 4EG’s mission during the Summer Solstice Celebration, our first ever company-wide event across all Cincinnati and Chicago locations. On June 21, 4EG teamed up with DKMS for a fundraiser in an effort to “delete” blood cancer by donating $1 from every drink sold that day.
In our first partnership with DKMS, 4EG is proud to have raised $6,110 during the Summer Solstice Celebration, covering the cost of 94 donor registrations.
DKMS is an international non-profit organization that has spent the last 25 years dedicated to the fight against blood cancer by creating awareness, recruiting bone marrow donors, raising funds to match donor registration costs, supporting the improvement of therapies through research, and supporting patients from day one of their diagnoses.
In the United States, a person is diagnosed with blood cancer and in need of a donor every three minutes. It costs $65 for each new blood donor to be registered and processed as a match for a patient.
Visitors during the Summer Solstice Celebration enjoyed signature cocktails, craft beer, and more at each location while staff members explained the fundraiser to raise awareness about blood cancer. Participants were also given wristbands, pens, brochures, and were encouraged to share photos on social media.
In order to keep registration free and receive as many blood donors as possible, DKMS relies on individual, foundation, and corporate contributions to cover the cost.
A check presentation is scheduled for July.
