The Top 10 Summer Date Ideas for Cincinnati Lovers

Now that warmer weather has finally blessed Cincinnati, we all have an opportunity to take advantage of it. We have curated a list of the best summer dates in Cincinnati for you and your boo. Let us know what you and your summer love have been up to by tagging us in all of your date posts and using the hashtag #4EGSummerLove

1- See Something Exotic

Start your evening on Keystone Clifton’s breezy patio to enjoy their awesome happy hour, including half-price apps and bottles of wine. Once you and your S.O. are full, head over to the Cincinnati Zoo for a wild time. This year, the Cincinnati Zoo was named the top Zoo and Botanical Garden in the nation by USA Today, and we think that’s something to celebrate. This summer, the Cincinnati Zoo is hosting Wild About Wine, Twilight Tuesdays, Cocktails for Conservation and many more exciting events. We suggest leaving the kids at home and making this a night for just the two of you.

2- Surprise Your Loved One

This date will require some time separate from your S.O., but trust us, it’s worth it. Start with a few drinks at The Lackman and lay down some ground rules for what’s to come (time spent, money spent, beers drank, etc.). Head over to City Flea at Washington Park to spend time looking for something you know they’d love. When the time comes to meet up, head over to Low Spark to relax with the aquarium, have a few cocktails, and exchange your picks. If you’re not ready to end your date there, we suggest getting a bite to eat at Salazar, or going to see a show at Music Hall.

3- Have a Staycation

When you go to Riverbend, it can sometimes feel like a vacation, especially if you’re going to see Jimmy Buffett. So why not make your concert date a mini staycation? Before going to see the big act and buying a beer for $10, enjoy the scenic decks at The Sandbar. Here, you can keep the vacation vibes going while having your favorite drinks with your favorite company. You can also grab a bite or a refreshing drink. We suggest getting a glass of Frosé or a $10 Malibu Bucket while relaxing outside on the patio where you can catch some live music.

4- Do Something Patriotic

There is nothing more American than baseball (other than apple pie), and everyone should come to the Great American Ball Park to experience summer’s most cherished activity. While eating as many hot dogs as you can, and trying your very best to make it onto the kiss cam, take some time out to head over to The Stretch, to ensure you’re making the most of your boozy day off with your love. While there, take advantage of their “7th Inning Stretch” deal and celebrate the win, or loss, of our beloved Reds.

5- Go on a Boat Ride

Sometimes living in Cincinnati, we can forget how beautiful it is. But, for this date we want you to cross the river into Kentucky. Our first stop is Keystone Covington’s patio, where you and your boo can enjoy some great people watching, delicious food and craft beer. From there, head over to the BB Riverboat landing. Your riverboat boards at 6:30 PM. Enjoy a scenic cruise along the Ohio River at sunset while listening to romantic, live music. If you haven’t had enough of the views after that, take a leisurely walk over the Purple People Bridge to end your evening.

6- Laugh Your Ass Off

This date is a little north of the city, so make sure to have your driving situation planned ahead of time. You will start your night at The Roosevelt Room. Here, you can cozy up with your partner while sipping on a (few) specialty cocktails. When you and your SO are feeling good to go, head over to The Funny Bone to laugh the night away. After the show ends, we know you won’t want to end your night there. You and your boo should walk off some of your side pains while heading to get late-night grub in Liberty Center.

7- Catch Some Views

It’s time to see the city from a different view. For this date, we’re heading to the hill. Walk the streets of Mount Adams with your SO and find yourself at Pavilion. Here, request a table on their patio to get one of the most stunning views of the city, while sharing a meal with your love. To keep the romance going, head over to the Hightail where you two can bond over a two-player board game.

8- Experience the City

Cincinnati comes alive in the summer. More specifically, Fountain Square comes alive. Every week there is something new going on, from Fourth of July Fireworks to Thursday night Salsa on the Square, there is something for everyone. Right around the corner, The Righteous Room’s hidden courtyard is the perfect place to prep for your Fountain Square dates, and serves as a great place to get in a few craft cocktails with your boo before dancing your ass off.

9- See a Show

For those days when it’s hotter than hell, we want you to head to Igby’s to cool off. Have yourself a cigar, or a craft cocktail and apps on our patio, while preparing yourself for the rest of the evening. It’s curtain call at the Aronoff Center, and we suggest you get there a few minutes early to settle in. After the final bow, head over to Graeter’s on the Square to end your night on a sweet note.

10- Explore OTR

This date is a little more laid back. We want you to start your day at the Ohio Book Store where you can get lost in their four floors of endless books. After you’ve found something to add to your library, head to Brown Bear Bakery to find something as sweet as your love (we recommend the chocolate chip cookies). After you’ve had a pick me up, wander you way up the street to Black Plastic Records, where you can look through a large collection of vinyl. After you’ve found a few records to take home, make your way to Rosedale where you and your SO can spend the rest of the day sipping and relaxing on their patio.
